Onward & Upward offers a variety of programs; allowing you to choose your own adventure! At the heart of every program is our core curriculum, which provides lessons and experiences for students to develop:
Executive Function
Through increasing self-awareness and practicing mindfulness, students learn the difference between reacting versus responding along with the power of choice.
Pro-social Relationships Skills
Team building activities that focus on social and emotional learning provide students with the opportunity to engage with their peers authentically; creating meaningful connections.
Growth Mindset
Students engage in activities that require critical thinking, problem solving and decision making. In our programs mistakes are welcomed opportunities for growth. Students learn that to FAIL is to find another important lesson.
Adverse Environmental Conditions
Due to the nature of our courses being primarily outdoors, adverse environmental conditions can occur. Please come prepared for cold, wet conditions. Students of overnight programs will be provided with a gear list and must come prepared with the necessary gear. Many items may be available for use upon request such as rain gear, fleece layers, sleeping bags, sleeping pads, etc. etc. All group gear is provided such as tents, cook stoves, cooking shelter, cook pans, water disinfection system and food.
